1 Kings 3:5-7
•5 In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream at night; and God said, “Ask what you wish me to give you." 6Then Solomon said, "You have shown great lovingkindness to Your servant David my father, according as he walked before You in truth and righteousness and uprightness of heart toward You; and You have reserved for him this great lovingkindness, that You have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day. 7"Now, O LORD my God, You have made Your servant king in place of my father David, yet I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.”

•Numbers 27:15-17 15Then Moses spoke to the LORD, saying, 16"May the LORD, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint a man over the congregation, 17who will go out and come in before them, and who will lead them out and bring them in, so that the congregation of the LORD will not be like sheep which have no shepherd."

•Going out and coming in were warfare terms,
•you came in from war and went out to war.
•They came in primarily to worship - to be refreshed and refilled
•Going out referred to witnessing

We are in a war
Let’s continue to come into the presence of the Lord

Jeremiah 17:2121'Thus says the LORD, "Take heed for yourselves, and do not carry any load (burden) on the Sabbath day or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem. When you come into my presence – you’re going to have to lay your burden down

It is possible to attend church physically and not attend church spiritually it is possible to be here in body and not be here in spirit

•Ezekial 46:9
•When the people of the land come before the LORD at the appointed feasts, whoever enters by the north gate to worship is to go out the south gate; and whoever enters by the south gate is to go out the north gate. No one is to return through the gate by which he entered, but each is to go out the opposite gate.

If you ever come to church burdened and you leave burdened –
Did you really go to “church”?
If you ever come to church discouraged and don't leave encouraged
Did you really enter the presence of God?

Samuel 18:12 “Now Saul was afraid of David, for the LORD was with him but had departed from Saul. 13Therefore Saul removed him from his presence and appointed him as his commander of a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people. 14David was prospering in all his ways for the LORD was with him.

15When Saul saw that he was prospering greatly, he dreaded him. 16But all Israel and Judah loved David, because he went out and came in before them.

David was an incredible worshipper David was an incredible warrior

2 Samuel 11:1 “Then it happened in the spring, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him and all Israel, and they destroyed the sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. 2”Now when evening came David arose from his bed and walked around on the roof of the king's house, and from the roof he saw a woman bathing; and the woman was very beautiful in appearance. 3So David sent and inquired about the woman. And one said, "Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter?”

Would David have ever seen Bathsheba if had been where he was supposed to be ?

DO YOU EVER FEEL LIKE THIS?

OR ARE YOU LIVING IN THE RIVER?
